Drawing

Once I discovered the power of figure drawing and understood the lessons being taught through the process, my skills as an artist accelerated! Errors in accuracy may go unnoticed when drawing an object, such as a piece of fruit, pottery or clothing. In contrast, even small deviations in proportion are readily observable when drawing the human form. A good student will begin to recognize and then confront these errors early in the process. Improved draftsmen skills eventually lead to improved paintings of any subject matter.

Above are a few examples of my figure drawings (Pencil on paper, 14x17). Each represents a 3-hour session with the model. I am indebted to all the models I've worked with over the years - Thanks you!
